The first version of the JaC64 stand-alone client version has been released at sourceforge. It is based on JaC64 version 1.1 beta and it includes the resid soundchip emulation and some bugfixes. If you want to download an run on your PC just ensure that you have a recent Java and download the jar-file and run it (or type java -jar jac64.jar in a command prompt). The client version can be found at: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=68906&package_id=256879

I have recently integrated resid (from the Java-port of sidplay/2 made by Ken Händel) into JaC64 and within the next few days a version 1.1 of JaC64 will be released. I am also working on a stand-alone version that can be used on your desktop PC's also. Happy New Year! -- Joakim

The latest version of JaC64 is now up on jac64.com. Most important fix is a workaround for getting the Java 6 javasound bug not affecting the frame rate of the emulator. If anyone still have problem with flickering / varying framerate when using the emulator please send me an email or report in the forums (or add a comment to this news item)!

The Devblog have been moved to blogger since the blog on this site was too slow and less robust than blogger blogs. A new version of the JaC64 emulator will be released soon. Main fix is for getting Java SE6 working good. This is due to a bug in javasound in the latest release of Java, so if you experience that the emulator seems to be running at a varying frame rate (regular slowdowns) it is due to the sound systems blocking of the main thread more than 2-300 milliseconds (which corresponds to a period of 10 frames for the C64).
